CiAl helps us to remember which are the best practices for a correct separate collection of aluminum packaging.
1 - Not only cans
When considering aluminum recycling, don't just think about cans.
All aluminum packaging is 100% and infinitely recyclable.
Even aerosol cans, tubes for cosmetic, food or health products, small cans, thin sheets of dairy products and caps and capsules. Collect all aluminum.
2 - Never alone
Aluminum is almost never considered alone in separate collection. Follow the instructions of your municipality or call the office in charge for more information in case of questions.
3 - Even dirty ones if empty
Make sure you remove all food or product residues from the aluminium packaging before throwing it in the separate collection. It is not necessary to wash aluminum containers.
4 - Small but precious
Recycling aluminum allows us to save 95% of the energy that is needed for primary production. For this reason, all aluminum, even the smallest size, is very important.
Don't forget to also collect and sort wine bottle caps, yogurt cup lids and aluminum foil in general.
5 - Compact and roll up
It is important to separate aluminum from the other materials with which it might be combined.
Compact and roll up the pieces that allow for it to make the recycling steps easier.
